Human Rights Foundation - AI Program - 4th year and hiring

Good Ancestor is proud to announce it's 4th year of funding a group of AI fellows to attend the Oslo Freedom Forum in support of developing an AI program at the Human Rights Foundation. If you are an AI practitioner interested in attending please Contact us, our fellowship covers travel, hotel, and admission to the conference.
Also an important announcement, as this initiative has grown, Jack Dorsey has made a multi-million dollar 5 year gift to the organization to develop an AI for Individual Rights Program. This program focuses primarily on AI in authoritarian countries and its relationship to freedom, rather than AI safety.
To learn more about their work, you can read their well produced annual reports here.
To learn more about AI and authoritarianism see a recent Oxford paper on the subject by one of our collaborators.
About Ecosystem Assistance
This is a good example of our ecosystem assistance program, which seeks to provide seed funding and subject matter expertise to organizations in support of entrepreneurial and innovative initiatives that can help them add new programs and capabilities, and better serve their extended communities.
Good Ancestor has a long history of assisting the Human Rights Foundation including our first grant of $100k nearly a decade ago, triggering the formation of the professional board. For example:
Technology concerns
- Internet Security advice for persons of interest to staff, fellows, community
- Assistance using cloud compute to analyze encrypted/leaked documents
- Building an AI program
Fundraising and granting initiatives
- Traveling to audit international grant reviews, charity evaluations
- Finding donors to initiate topic specific funds
- Finding funding for ecosystem initiatives outside the org's purview
We are open to helping select non-profit ecosystem partners in a similar manner, particularly those that convene important audiences. Contact us to inquire.
