Environmental and Ecosystem Grants
Tools and Technology Projects
Good Ancestor maintains a small research farm in Vermont where we
- Do prototyping for our Eco-Endowment
- Perform basic research on polyculture and Regenerative Agriculture
- Have made an experimental food forest
- Have created a novel geothermal greenhouse prototype
We work with Open Source Ecology, which develops an self-contained ecosystem of tools needed to build a civilization, and the Open Building Institute, which prototypes modular open source eco-compatibile housing and have a research farm and industrial shop in northern Missouri.
Research Grantmaking
- We provided a research grant to Growbot founder James Brake to study automated growing systems, and research for space travel with accelerated plant growth in a pressure vessel, mimicking the fast growth environment of the high pressure atmosphere during the Jurrasic and Cretacious periods
- We have provided a research grant to All-Fed, regarding food system resiliency
- We are also performing wildlife tracking research with our Emergency Communication Satellite project.
Ecosystems Grantmaking
We also perform grantmaking and research around globally critical ecosystems.
