Hylo - Tools for purpose driven communities

Hylo - Tools for purpose driven communities

Good Ancestor completed a year end 2x matching grant for funding Hylo.com milestone development, which includes onboarding for some of our ecosystem partners such as Open Source Ecology and the Open Building Institute.

Hylo is an open source tool for initiatives to build their own internal social networks, and is the only one we found that supported group features lacking in Facebook and mighty networks and allowing for nested initiatives and permissions. Hylo has been in development a long time but is finally reaching important usability milestones. They have achieved major backing to onboard regenerative agriculture farms from a grant, as well as from the Buffet foundation.

Hylo provides
- Open Source platform with the ability to export your data
- User privacy and public / private group control
- A Feed that shows you only groups/things you want to watch
- A real emphasis on group coordination features
- The ability to trigger actions/bots with an API like slack

If you would like to volunteer or participate in beta testing see: https://www.hylo.com/participate/

Future updates will hopefully feature a Good Ancestor Hylo community for testing.

We have also provided program funding for Signal / Molly, and other open source tools for free/private communication and collaboration.
